NWC, KAUST Sign Agreement for Cooperation in Water, Environmental Treatment Research

Riyadh, The National Water Company (NWC) and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) signed yesterday a cooperation agreement for research and knowledge transfer in the field of water and environmental treatment.

The agreement was signed by NWC CEO Nemer Al-Shebel and KAUST Vice President for Research Pierre Magistretti.

An NWC representative said that the agreement is part of NWC’s endeavor to come up with innovative solutions, transfer knowledge, keep pace with modern technologies, develop wastewater treatment systems and generate energy.

KAUST stressed that the agreement will ensure the activation of research and the use of modern technologies to improve the efficiency of operations, develop technologies in the water and environmental services sectors, and exchange knowledge between the two sides.

KAUST also said that it is proud to continue its strategic partnership with NWC in the conduct of essential and effective research projects, in line with the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision, and praised the efforts exerted by the two sides to confront national and global challenges, and to create a tangible societal impact in the water and environmental treatment sectors.
