The Saudi- headquartered Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has voiced appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chair of the Islamic Summit, for its efforts and communication with international key players to step up pressure on the Israeli occupation government to end its attacks and unilateral measures in Jerusalem and Gaza.

The OIC valued in a statement the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s assertion to the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of the Kingdom’s continued efforts to build an intensified international pressure on the Israeli occupation government to put an end to its measures and attacks against Jerusalem and occupied Palestinian territory.

The organization has also valued the efforts of the Islamic State members at the UN Security Council to achieve ceasefire and end bloodshed in the occupied Palestinian Territories.

Upon an invitation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the OIC held an emergency meeting on May 16 at the foreign ministers’ level to discuss the Israeli attacks on Palestinians, especially in AlQuds AlSharif and Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound and issued a communique rejecting and denouncing the Israeli occupation and continued attacks on the Palestinian Territories.

The OIC had renewed its call on the international community to intensify efforts to push for a comprehensive and lasting settlement to the Palestinian question on the basis of the two-state and the Arab Peace Initiative.
