Jeddah, The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, has welcomed the signing of the Peace Agreement between the Chadian parties in Doha on Monday, 8 August 2022.

He praised the transitional government and the political and military movements in Chad for their commitment, which enabled the signing of this historic agreement.

The OIC Secretary General, who attended the signing ceremony, hoped that the agreement would lead to a lasting peace in Chad, with the commitment of the Chadian parties and the active support of the international community to Chad in this crucial phase.

He expressed the readiness of the OIC to cooperate with international partners to accompany the Chadian parties in their quest for peace, security, and sustainable development in the interest of the Chadian people.
