Riyadh: On the sidelines of the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) Conference, whose second edition concluded in Riyadh yesterday, an agreement was signed to renew funding from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the global ‘Messengers of Peace’ initiative over the next decade, amounting to $50 million. The initiative aims to inspire and encourage over 100 million scouts to act as messengers of peace in 176 countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative will significantly contribute to supporting community scouting activities worldwide over the next decade, enhance core scouting educational programs and the capabilities of national scout associations, spread a global culture of peace through community service, and equip youth with the values and skills needed to become leaders and change-makers. This aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals related to the development of youth leadership and the promotion of a culture of peace, sustainability, and active citizenship.
