Saudi professional boxer Ziad Al-Maayouf is stepping into the ring today in one of the opening fights to the bout between former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua and Jermaine Franklin at the O2 Arena in London.

Al-Maayouf is set to face off against Bulgarian Georgi Velichkov following his impressive performance in the recent Rage on the Red Sea held in Jeddah. In that match, Al-Maayouf secured victory by a knockout against his Mexican opponent Jose Alatorre, cementing his position as the champion of the sixth round, held as part of 10 fights in the historic event in the world of boxing.

The upcoming fight featuring Al-Maayouf presents a momentous opportunity for a Saudi boxer. He will be the first boxer in the Arab world to compete in a pro bout in the prestigious O2 Arena. Al-Maayouf had previously participated in the Truth showdown, where he defeated Ronald Martinez via unanimous decision.

Al-Maayouf has the backing of Skill Challenge Entertainment, under the leadership of Prince Khalid bin Abdulaziz, which is the marketing company for these important bouts. The Saudi pro boxer is also carefully followed and supported by the Ministry of Sport and the Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation.

Prince Khalid, founder and chairman of Skill Challenge Entertainment, stated that “It is time for Saudi youth to step into the international boxing ring and showcase their skills before the whole world.”
