Saudi Embassy in Jordan Organizes the Saudi Jordanian Media Forum

Amman, The embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Amman, Jordan, today organized the Saudi Jordanian Media Forum on the sidelines of the official visit His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently paying to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

During the forum, ways of enhancing common cooperation in all fields of media to keep pace with the firmness and strength of ties binding the two kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Jordan were discussed.

Addressing the gathering, Faisal Al-Shabol, Jordan’s Minister of Media, drew the attention to the formation of a media-related committee at the Arab League assigned to protect the Arab media and put joint bases for dealing with the social media.

He said that relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are distinguished and historic, calling for exerting more efforts to unify the positions of the two countries towards their common issues of concern.

For his part, Khalid bin Hamad Al-Malik, President of the Saudi Journalists Association, said that strategic links conjoin the two countries, confirming the importance of media representatives and the academia translating these ties into ideal relations between the two countries.

Addressing the forum, the President of the Saudi Press Agency Fahd bin Hasan Al Aqran called for more integration and enhancement of relations and cooperation among the media representatives and institutions amid the regional and international changes taking place nowadays.

He acknowledged the existence of such cooperation but should be developed and built on, he noted.

Al Aqran called for activating the role of media leaders, citing the need to hold continuous meetings and partnerships between the two sides, be them at the ministers level, or media institutions or think tanks and research centers or so.

Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, CEO of the Broadcasting and TV authority, undercored the importance and significance of the visit which takes place amid great changes in the region, calling for more Arab coordination, particularly in the political arena.

He called for benefiting from the accumilating expertise of the two sides in the field of media and transformation to mdeia industry.

The participants held a session of discussion on how to serve the Arab media in general and the Saudi Jordanian media in particular.
