Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met Tuesday with United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification Executive Secretary Ibrahim Thiaw, with whom he discussed cooperation on combating desertification.
The minister highlighted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s initiatives and efforts to preserve the environment, notably the Saudi and Middle East Green Initiatives, which align with the global sustainable development goals.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 78th UN General Assembly at the headquarters of the Kingdom’s permanent delegation to the UN, in New York, was attended by Saudi Ambassador to the US Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multiple International Affairs Undersecretary Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Rassi, and Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel.
