The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources recently concluded its participation in the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX 2024), held in Dubai from October 14 to 18. At the exhibition, the ministry showcased its technological solutions, expertise in digital transformation, and efforts to promote artificial intelligence and Fourth Industrial Revolution applications within the industrial and mining sectors.
The ministry’s main pavilion attracted significant interest from visitors in the latest technological advancements and smart solutions. This participation highlighted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s industrial and mining achievements, presenting promising investment opportunities and strategic assets that make it an attractive destination for global investors.
During GITEX 2024, the ministry introduced several initiatives to stimulate industrial innovation and leverage advanced manufacturing technologies, as well as digital solutions for mining exploration and geological surveying. A not
able highlight was the Future Factories Program Initiative, which aims to automate 4,000 factories. The initiative has garnered admiration for its focus on transforming these facilities into smart operations by adopting Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to enhance production efficiency, reduce operating costs, and minimize dependence on unskilled labor.
The ministry also emphasized the advanced digital services available on the Senaei Platform for industrial investment partners and other stakeholders. These services include the instant issuance of industrial licenses, facility ownership transfers within 24 hours, and industrial license upgrades completed within 48 hours.
Visitors to the pavilion could access digital geological data through the National Geological Database (NGD), which contains information dating back 80 years. This resource helps mining investors make informed investment decisions with clarity and precision. Additionally, the pavilion highlighted the digital and financial services o
ffered by the Saudi Export-Import Bank (Saudi EXIM).
The National Industrial Academy’s pavilion experienced a surge of visitors interested in training and vocational qualifications. The academy introduced its specialized programs designed to equip national industrial talent with skills in the latest manufacturing technologies, including applications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. These promising programs include a master’s degree in robotics and autonomous intelligent systems, covering smart industrial sectors such as mechatronics, robotics, and drones.
Entities participating from the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources at GITEX Dubai 2024 included the ministry itself, the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF), the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY), the Saudi Export-Import Bank (Saudi EXIM), the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS), and the Saudi Mining Services Company (ESNAD). The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), the National Industrial Development Ce
