Shanghai: The Saudi National Livestock and Fisheries Development Program is participating in the 7th edition of the China International Import Expo, held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. Various Saudi government entities and companies specializing in dairy, poultry, fish, shrimp, and date sectors are taking part in the event.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program’s Director of Institutional Communication, Abdulmajeed Alshehri, noted that the program organized the participation of these companies in collaboration with several government bodies. These include the National Center for Palms and Dates, the Agricultural Development Fund, and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. Ten Saudi companies are engaged in the event to assist private sector companies in marketing agricultural products in priority international markets, notably the Chinese market.

The expo is expected to enhance trade and increase non-oil exports, thereby contributing to the improvement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’
s balance of trade. Alshehri mentioned that the program aims to promote Saudi investment opportunities and engage with key investors and relevant Chinese government entities to enhance cooperation in investment and trade between the two countries.

The expo is a significant economic initiative by China, aimed at expanding trade and boosting global market openness. This year, over 1,600 exhibitors are participating, and the exhibition is expected to attract around 150,000 visitors from more than 100 countries.
