Saudi Space Agency Concludes ‘Madak Space’ Competition with Grand Ceremony

Riyadh: The Saudi Space Agency (SSA) concluded the first edition of the 'Madak Space' competition by honoring the supporting partners and members of the judging panel, in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the competition, which witnessed the participation of more than 80,000 male and female students from across the Arab world. The ceremony was held on Tuesday at the SSA's headquarters.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the organization of the competition comes within the framework of the SSA's efforts to expand the participation of Arab students in the space sector and to provide advanced educational and practical opportunities within a modern research environment.

Contributing to the success of the edition was the strategic partner, the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation 'Misk,' represented by its ilmi Center, in addition to supporting partners - the Ministry of Education, the National Center for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development 'Estidama,' and Academy 32 - reflecting the integration of national efforts to support future generations.

The 'Madak Space' competition is the first of its kind in the Arab world, as it provides students with the opportunity to send their scientific projects into space, representing a pioneering step aimed at empowering the next generation of researchers and innovators and encouraging them to link education with applied research in a microgravity environment.
