The Iraqi Forces Coalition denies the election of Khamis Al-Khanjar as head of a Sunni Alliance

BAGHDAD, The Coalition of Iraqi Forces denied the election of Khamis al-Khanjar as head of a Sunni Alliance.

"His Coalition denies the circulation of some channels and social networking sites regarding the election of Khamis al-Khanjar as the head of a Sunni alliance during the meeting held yesterday evening at the office of Former Parliament Speaker Dr. Salim al-Jubouri," Coalition Spokesman Laith al-Dulaimi said in a statement.

"The meeting was a consultation to reach common understandings, and the announcement of the presidential election was not addressed to him.

It is noteworthy that it was agreed among a number of politicians to choose a unified negotiating team on the formation of the government and the merits of the next phase.

"Leaders and Heads of a number of political blocs held a meeting at the home of Salim al-Jubouri on Saturday evening, in which they discussed the current political situation and the ways to get into a space that supports the understandings and promotes dialogue in order to bring together views and develop common visions on the coming stage, within the national framework.
