The Ministerial Council for Human Development held its fifth regular session for the current year 2023, headed by the Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi.
The Council discussed the topics included in its agenda, which included major files: the National Strategy for Education in Iraq 2022-2031, government support for the Workers’ Pension Fund, policy and plans related to developing tourism activity, restructuring ministries, as well as discussing the issue of daylight savings time.
During the session, Dr. Hamid Khalaf Ahmed, Executive Director of the Supreme Committee for Education Development in Iraq and Chairman of the Committee for preparing the National Strategy for Education hosted, to discuss the strategy and its objectives and present the government’s vision for education over the next ten years and invest it in achieving comprehensive development.
During the session, the Council voted to recommend to the Council of Ministers to approve the National Strategy for Education in Iraq 2022-2031, to approve the study and proposals related to the development of tourism activity, and to agree to proceed with the legislation of the draft law merging and abolishing ministries that had previously been prepared and approved by the Council’s decision. Ministers (87 of 2016) and confirmation of it according to Cabinet Resolution (442 of 2017), with the exception of the merger of the Ministry of Environment with the Ministry of Health, as well as voting on government support for the Workers’ Pension Fund.
