The State Administration Coalition affirms that Iraq respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kuwait and resolves all problems by peaceful means

The State Administration Coalition held Today, Tuesday, 26/9/2023, its 21st regular meeting at the Government Palace, headed by Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, Prime Minister.

A Coalition statement said: “The meeting discussed a group of important topics and issues related to the political, economic and service situation. The Prime Minister reviewed the details of his visit to New York and Iraqi international relations.”

The statement added: "The Coalition discussed Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations and the most important outstanding issues between the two countries and the impact of this on bilateral relations between them."

The Coalition explained: “Iraq is governed by a constitution, which is the reference for the system of separation of powers,” declaring its rejection of the aggressive methods adopted by the previous regime in dealing with neighboring countries, which cost Iraq a great price in compensation for its barbaric wars.

The coalition confirmed the following:

1. Iraq respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the State of Kuwait and is committed to all its bilateral agreements with countries and to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, including Resolution No. 833 adopted by the Security Council at its 3224th session held on May 27, 1993, which was approved and signed by the head of the Baathist regime by a decision of the Leadership Council. The dissolved Revolution, No. (200 of November 10, 1994), and its ratification by what was known as the National Council, at the time, on the same date.

2 - Solving all problems through peaceful means, rejecting the use of violence in relations with neighboring Iraqi countries and other countries, and using negotiations and dialogue as a means of solutions, away from harsh statements.

3 - Supporting the Iraqi government in its efforts to continue negotiations to resolve some of the outstanding problems between Iraq and sisterly Kuwait in a way that preserves the two countries’ legitimate rights.
