The Yemeni government affirms commitment to ICRC staff safety

Aden, The Yemeni government has affirmed its commitment to taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the staff of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

In a letter addressed from Yemeni Foreign Minister Khaled Hussein Al-Yamani to the head of the ICRC delegation in Yemen Francois Moreillon, Al-Yamani said the Foreign Ministry and other concerned government agencies are ready to deal with any complaints, obstacles or concerns that hinder the missions of the Red Cross teams and deal with them, pointing out that the concerned bodies are completing the investigation into the assassination of the official of the ICRC detention program on April 21 in Taiz and will brief the Red Cross Office on the results of the investigation as soon as it is completed.

Al-Yamani confirmed that the tragic incident that targeted Hanna Lahoud will not affect the noble humanitarian work of the Red Cross in Taiz in particular and Yemen in general.
