Traditional Crafts by Elderly Women Captivate Visitors at Alatawelah Festival

Alatawelah: The Eighth Historical Festival of Alatawelah showcased a special heritage event dedicated to the traditional work of women from the past. The aim was to highlight and celebrate the vital roles of women in the past, reflecting their daily contributions to their families and communities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, live demonstrations of key tasks traditionally performed by women, including food preparation, wool spinning, basket and mat weaving, and firewood collection, have been introduced.

A group of young girls actively replicated traditional methods and techniques for visitors, providing an immersive opportunity to explore the intricacies of past rural life. The event received enthusiastic engagement from the audience, particularly children and youth, many of whom eagerly captured these memorable moments.

The event is part of the festival's efforts to highlight and preserve local heritage, strengthen national identity, and foster a deeper connection to the past.
