The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq described today, Wednesday, the resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan region as an “important step.”

UNAMI said in a tweet on Twitter, “We welcome the Baghdad-Erbil agreement to resume oil exports from the Kurdistan region, which is an important step that will pave the way for an agreement on an oil and gas law, strengthen the bonds of national unity, and enhance Iraq’s economic prospects to serve all Iraqis.”

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, signed yesterday, Tuesday, the oil agreement with the PM of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani.

With this agreement, the export of oil from the Kurdistan region to Ceyhan, Turkey, will be resumed after it was stopped due to a court ruling from the Paris Court in favor of the Federal Ministry of Oil.
