Manama, The University of Bahrain board of trustees, chaired by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, held its first meeting following the issuance of Royal Decree (45) of 2024 restructuring the board, with all members in attendance.
Dr. Juma emphasised the importance of tracking the career paths of the university’s graduates, similar to private universities, to assess employment rates and their suitability for membership in the university’s advisory boards, with reports to be submitted to the board.
Dr. Fuad Mohamed Al Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), presented an update on the university’s progress, including recent academic and developmental initiatives. He also submitted the 2022 and 2023 annual reports, evaluating the university’s academic, administrative, and financial performance. The reports highlighted student enrolment figures, challenges, and opportunities, as well as partnerships with international institutions. The boar
d approved both reports.
The board also approved the final accounts of the university and Bahrain Teachers College (BTC) for 2021-2023, following a review of the external auditor’s reports.
Additionally, the board approved several partnerships and memoranda of understanding between the University of Bahrain and local, regional, and international entities.
The board restructured its internal committees, appointing Dr. Khalid Abdullah Taqi as head of the audit and finance committee and Dr. Ebrahim Al Sayed Jamal Al Hashemi as head of the academic committee.
