An American official announced a close meeting between the Sudanese army Commander, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Muhammad Hamdan (Hamidti), under international auspices, in Saudi Arabia.
He added, in an interview with Sky News: A joint diplomatic delegation that includes representatives of the US, Saudi, Emirati, Egyptian, African and European Union Ministries of Foreign Affairs is now making contacts with the aim of launching dialogue mediation, to be hosted by Riyadh in the coming weeks, to bring together the two parties to the conflict in Sudan.
Mediation efforts, according to the source, are seeking to bring together the Sudanese army Commander, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, for a meeting in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, within weeks.
Regarding the date and details of the dialogue initiative, the official concluded that the announcement may be issued by Saudi Arabia in the coming days.
The Sudanese capital and other cities are witnessing clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, which resulted in hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries.
