Baku: Secretary-General of the World Muslim Communities Council Dr. Mohamed Bechari has highlighted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s participation in the COP29 Global Summit of Religious Leaders is a pivotal step reflecting the Kingdom’s deep commitment to environmental protection and efforts towards a greener, sustainable planet. The summit commenced yesterday in Baku, Azerbaijan, under the theme “World Religions for a Green Planet”.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Bechari praised Saudi Arabia’s opening speech at the summit, emphasizing the Kingdom’s pioneering role in establishing comprehensive strategies that integrate environmental protection as a core element of its cultural and national identity. He noted that through these messages, Saudi Arabia aims to build bridges of understanding among nations based on Islamic values that promote the stewardship and preservation of the Earth.
