House Speaker Nabih Berri on Friday welcomed at his Ain al-Tineh residence visiting Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, on top of a Kuwaiti delegation.
Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdel Aal Qanai, was also present.
A closed meeting was held between Speaker Berri and Al-Ghanim over the current developments, bilateral relations and cooperation between the parliaments of both countries.
Speaking on emerging, Al-Ghanim underlined the distinguished relations between the two brotherly parliaments, hailing the distinctive bilateral relations between Kuwait and Lebanon at the various levels.
Ghanim also wished Lebanon stability and peace, hoping that the new government would be formed soon.
On the other hand, Berri met with a delegation from a delegation from the economic bodies, headed by President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon Mohamed Choucair, with talks reportedly touching on the current economic and financial situation in Lebanon.
Berri also met today with Caretaker Information Minister, Melhem Riachy, with whom he discussed the general situation and government formation process.
On emerging, Minister Riachy said that the meeting comes in the context of contiual communication with Speaker Berri, describing the meeting as "excellent" broaching the general situation and the climate of al-Diman meeting.
In reply to a question about Cabinet formation process, Riachy said "contacts are ongoing," ruling out a problem between the Lebanese Forces and the PM-designate.
Among Speaker Berri's itinerant visitors for today had been Professor Philippe Salem.
