Parliamentary delegation reaffirms support for Palestinians

Members of the parliamentary delegation to the 28th extraordinary session of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) have called for the need to protect the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, continue providing them with the necessary support and reject the continuous violations of the Israeli Occupation Forces in the occupied terrirtories.

Shura Council member, Hala Ramzi, expressed her condemnation of the unjustified and excessive use of force by the Israeli occupation forces against civilians in the Gaza Strip, while demanding their just and legitimate rights.

She said that such abhorrent practices contravene all norms, traditions and religious principles, stressing the importance of Arab solidarity and cooperation to put an end to such dangerous escalation in the occupied Arab lands.

Member of the Council of Representatives, MP Jamal Dawood, said that supporting the Palestinian issue requires a comprehensive Arab and international action to stop the massacres and grave violations committed by the Zionist authorities, affirming the support of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the Palestinian cause and its brotherly people in obtaining their legitimate rights, according to the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative, and based on the two-state solution on the 1967 borders, and all the relevant UN resolutions.

Shura Council member, Ahmed Bahzad, stressed that the Occupation Forces' incessant violations against the brotherly Palestinian people contravene the International Legitimacy resolutions, as well as all the international conventions, norms and agreements that protect human rights, especially the right to protest which is guaranteed to the Palestinians as per such conventions and covenants.

He added that the AIPU meeting aims to re-assert the Arab firm stance in support of the brotherly Palestinian people's right on their land, and right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Representatives Council member, MP Mohammed Milad, stressed the need for stepping up Arab coordination, cooperation and consultation to address the current challenges facing the Palestinian cause, the Arab's central cause.

Shura Council member, Dr. Mansoor Sarhan, welcomed the convening of the extraordinary session of AIPU to discuss the latest dangerous escalation in the Palestinian territories, calling on the Palestinians to rally together, and urging concerted Arab, Islamic and international efforts to put an end to the Israeli Occupation Forces' illegitimate practices against the Palestinians.
