Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, has held a meeting with the Arab League's Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The meeting focused on the ceremony to be held by the Ministry of Education at the Arab League's premises to celebrate the centenary of formal education in Bahrain, which was first launched in early 1900s.
The minister stressed that a series of events and festivities will be held in Bahrain and abroad to commemorate such an important national occasion.
The festivities marking 100 years of formal eductaion in the kingdom will shed light on Bahrain's landmmark local and international educational achievements thanks to the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Dr. Al-Nuaimi said.
The Arab League chief welcomed the ceremony to be held by the Ministry of Education, noting that it will provide an opportunity to highlight the educational process in the Kingdom.
He also hailed the progress witnessed by Bahrain in various fields.
