Turkish air force destroys sites of Kurdish opposition in northern Iraq

BAGHDAD, The Turkish army destroyed a number of Kurdish opposition sites belonging to the PKK organization in northern Iraq.

A statement issued by the Turkish General Staff said that "the fighter jets carried out on Tuesday air raids on areas / Zab / Mmtina and / Avashin-Basian / northern Iraq.

"The air strikes have resulted in the destruction of shelters, caches and weapons and ammunition depots of the separatist terrorist organization," the statement said.

The security forces and the Turkish army target the Kurdish organization and pursue its members, south and south-east of Turkey and northern Iraq, in response to terrorist attacks carried out inside the country from time to time, starting from Iraqi territory, targeting civilians and security elements.
