Cairo, Egyptian President Abdelfattah El Sisi on Tuesday discussed boosting bilateral relations and developments in the Middle East region with US President Donald Trump.
During a phone conversation, El Sisi stressed the importance of continuing work to activate bilateral cooperation in several fields, mainly military, Egypt's presidential spokesman Bassam Radhi said in a statement, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The two sides also focused on countering terrorism and extremist ideology, common challenges and the strategic relations between the two countries, Radhi added.
They also discussed efforts exerted to restore stability in the region, with the aim of reaching political resolutions to the current crises mainly in Libya, Syria and Yemen, he noted.
El Sisi pointed to Egypt's efforts in combating terrorism, affirming its determination to continue its endeavors to uproot this phenomenon, Radhi made it clear. He also underlined the importance of coordination and cooperation with the US side.
Trump commended the Egyptian efforts in this regard at both regional and international levels, according to the statement
