Bybit Receives In-Principle Approval to Operate in Kazakhstan

ASTANA, KAZAKHSTAN – Media OutReach – 29 May 2023 – Bybit, the world’s third most visited crypto exchange, has received in-principle approval by Kazakhstan’s Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA). This latest approval highlights Bybit’s continued commitment to expanding its presence in emerging and dynamic markets.

The in-principle approval subjects Bybit to pre-conditions leading to permanent authorization upon Bybit’s completion of the full application process. With this approval, Bybit will be allowed to operate a Digital Asset Trading Facility and provide Custody Services at the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan is a gateway to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a fast-growing market that is rapidly embracing cryptocurrencies. WAFA: EIGHT PALESTINIAN INJURED BY ISRAELI ARMY GUNFIRE DURING AN ASSAULT ON JENIN

Eight Palestinians were injured by Israeli army gunfire while six others were detained during an early morning Israeli army raid into several areas in the occupied northern West Bank city of Jenin. Palestinian security sources told WAFA that a large unit of Israeli forces raided Jenin city from different directions as snipers were deployed on rooftops, mainly in the vicinity of Jenin Government Hospital. They said intense confrontations broke out between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces, who fired live bullets toward the youths, injuring eight of them, one of whom was reported to be in critical condition. Israeli forces obstructed the work of ambulances while trying to transfer the injured to hospitals in Jenin as an Israeli military vehicle ran into two ambulances, causing damages to them. The soldiers also raided and heavily ransacked several houses in Jenin.

GDNC Arrests 4 Residents for Attempting to Sell Methamphetamine in Eastern Region

The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) has arrested four Bangladeshi residents in the Eastern region for attempting to sell methamphetamine and narcotic tablets. The four were referred to the Public Prosecution.

Security agencies call on the public to report any information concerning drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions. They can also contact the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995 or through email: 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality.

More than 200 million worshippers visited the Prophet’s Holy Mosque from the beginning of 1444 Hijri and until the beginning of Dhul Qadah, General President of the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and Prophet’s Holy Mosque Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais said.

Foreign Minister Receives Phone Call from UK Counterpart

Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received a phone call today from United Kingdom Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.

The two officials reviewed efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support finding political solutions in Sudan and Saudi efforts, during Jeddah negotiations, to narrow down differences between the conflicting Sudanese parties, which resulted in reaching short-term ceasefire agreements and humanitarian arrangements.

Means to boost the already strong relations between the two countries and ways of intensifying joint coordination on several issues of common concern were also discussed

Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Meets with Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure

Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, on a visit to the Republic of Serbia, has held a meeting with Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic, discussing ways of boosting joint cooperation in the field of transport and logistic services.

Al-Jasser reviewed the national strategy for transport and logistic services along with initiatives, programs, projects and investment opportunities that aim to consolidate the Kingdom’s global position in logistics.

The two sides further discussed opportunities for cooperation in aviation, air carriers, railways and logistics.

Al-Jasser was briefed on transport and infrastructure projects in the Republic of Serbia, as well as on future plans for the development of the entire transport sector.

Jazan Border Guards Foil Attempt to Smuggle 350 kg of Khat

Border guards in Al-Aridhah Governorate, in Jazan Region, have foiled an attempt to smuggle 350 kilograms of khat.

Preliminary legal procedures were completed and the seized narcotics were handed over to the competent authority.

Security agencies urge anyone with information related to suspected smuggling or trafficking operations to call the confidential hotline 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
