Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed that there are lagging projects and we have allocations that enable us to complete these projects. There are also large sums of money for ongoing projects worth 8 trillion dinars, which are allocations for the year 2024.
He said in a press conference that there is no justification for increasing the allocations to the governorates more than that, as we have about 11 billion dollars, which is a lot of money.
He added that we have granted powers to governorates and local governments within the government program.
He stressed that infrastructure projects are a priority for the government and I will not allow public money to be wasted, and this is part of our national and moral commitment to preserving public money.
He explained that there is continuous periodic follow-up of all projects in Baghdad and the governorates, and we have an integrated plan to follow up on the implementation of these projects, as well as deterrent measures against negligent employees

He continued, ‘We have direct directives to interact with the media, and we are ready to cooperate and communicate to address any defect.’
He explained that I will go to visit the governorates only to see and follow up on the projects, and the visits will not be for community events.
