Director General of Prisons Leads Interior Ministry Delegation to 22nd Annual Arab Conference of Heads of Punitive and Correctional Institutions

Cairo, The Director General of Prisons, Major General Majid bin Bandar Al-Duweish, led the Ministry of Interior delegation at the 22nd Annual Arab Conference of Heads of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, held at Cairo’s Police Academy in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The two-day conference was attended by heads and members of delegations from Arab countries.

In his opening speech, the Secretary General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman, emphasized that the conference’s agenda reflects the Arab countries’ commitment to enhancing the treatment of inmates in punitive and correctional institutions and providing them with social and health care in line with international standards.

The conference also showcased the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s successful experience in offering exemplary reform programs for prison inmates, highlighting the positive impact on inmates during their imprisonment and their successful reintegration into society after their release.
