Madinah, A medical team at King Salman Medical City in Madinah treated a woman pilgrim in her seventies who suffered from severe stomach bleeding. The 70-year-old Iranian pilgrim underwent an endoscopy, a minimally invasive procedure that allowed medical professionals to identify the source of the bleeding. The examination revealed varicose veins in her stomach and esophagus, caused by high pressure in a major abdominal vein called the portal vein. The medical team utilized a specialized device to ligate the varicose veins, and applied medical glue to reinforce the closure, controlling the bleeding. Source: Saudi Press Agency
