Shura Council Holds its 44th Ordinary Session of 4th Year of 8th Session

The Shura Council convened its forty-fourth ordinary session of the fourth year of the eighth session yesterday, chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Sulami.

At the beginning of the session, the Council reviewed the agenda and made necessary decisions regarding the items it contained.

Concerning Hajj and Umrah affairs, the Shura Council issued a decision calling on the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to collaborate with relevant authorities to expand the establishment of care centers for pilgrims at arrival ports. It emphasized the need to allocate necessary locations for these centers and expand indicators for measuring pilgrims’ satisfaction with the services provided. Additionally, the Council adopted an extra recommendation within this decision presented by Council member Dr. Abdullah Al-Wagdani.

In relation to sports, the Council urged the Ministry of Sports to work with the Ministry of Education to invest in model school playgrounds and halls for hosting sports competitio
ns. It also advised Mahd Sports Academy to focus on increasing training centers in schools to provide better access to sports talent.

Regarding health affairs, the Council called on King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital to increase the number of clinics, operating rooms, and patient inpatient rooms in proportion to the rise in the number of visitors.

In another decision during this session, the Shura Council urged the National Center for Performance Measurement (ADAA) to form strategic partnerships with private or government universities to develop qualification and training programs tailored to the Center’s needs in preparing specialized competencies.

On an economic note, the Shura Council requested the National Center for Government Resource Systems, in coordination with relevant authorities, to update the data-sharing policy study concerning basic data and determine its owners.

In the field of education, the Shura Council called on Al-Baha University, in coordination with relevant authorities, to focus o
n developing specialized and innovative academic programs in tourism and agriculture. It also urged the University of Hail to diversify its investments to enhance its revenues and achieve financial efficiency and sustainability.

Lastly, the Shura Council called on the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GASGI) to coordinate with relevant authorities to acquire advanced technologies for obtaining satellite images and geospatial data with high accuracy and in a short time frame. The Council stressed the importance of enhancing innovation and knowledge building among GASGI employees regarding geospatial capabilities.
