Arab League Secretary General Condemns Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Extremists

Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit has strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremists led by the minister of national security in the occupation government. Aboul Gheit stressed that these extremists are pushing the situation to the brink and deliberately provoking the feelings of hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world. In a statement today, Aboul Gheit stated that the storming occurred under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, who turned the Old City into a military zone and imposed restrictions on the entry of worshippers. He pointed out that the occupation government bears full responsibility for this provocative escalation. He added that these repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque constitute a violation of the existing historical and legal status quo in Al-Quds and are part of a systematic Israeli policy to divide the mosque temporally and spatially. He highlighted that scoring political points by stirring religious sentiments and p rovoking Muslims is a cheap and dangerous strategy. Source: Saudi Press Agency
