The Rijal Almaa Governorate, with its rich heritage, breathtaking nature, and authentic traditions, is a popular tourist destination.

With the arrival of August each year, the mountains of Rijal Almaa Governorate transform into captivating green landscapes due to heavy rains, which result in water flowing along wadis and waterfalls cascading from towering heights for over 60 days.

The distinction between mountains, plains, and valleys blurs as they become a green carpet with flowing springs, attracting thousands of visitors and picnickers drawn to the stunning nature and many destinations.

The Rijal Almaa Governorate is a major tourist destination in the Aseer region that houses the historic village of Rijal with its captivating stone castles and architecture. Additionally, the Honey Cottage has become a prominent landmark, attracting visitors seeking to learn about honey varieties, names, and tools used in its production.

rn Saudi Arabia, owing to its natural environment and dense vegetation that nourishes countless bees. This has made it a primary source of honey, and captured the attention of visitors.

A journey to Rijal Almaa begins in Abha city, accessible via two main routes. One connects Abha to the governorate from the west through Al Soudah and Aqabat Sama which is approximately 40 kilometers away. It passes through Wadi Al Ows, where Sidr trees, corn and millet farms, and other agricultural products and aromatic plants flourish. The journey continues to “Ash Sha’been’, the administrative center with government offices and bustling commercial activity.

The other route approaches from the south, traversing the mountains through several tunnels, including one over 1,000 meters long, which makes it one of the longest in the Kingdom. This route connects the Rijal Almaa Governorate to Dhahran Al Janoub Governorate in the Jazan region and then to Aqabat Dila, which leads to Abha city from the south.

The scattered clouds on the mountain peaks during this season have formed captivating images widely shared on social media platforms, prompting locals and visitors from both within and outside the Kingdom to travel to this destination to enjoy the mesmerizing atmosphere and cool temperature, and share these moments on social media platforms.
