The King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam has received 80 eco-friendly electric trucks, the largest port in the Middle East to receive this amount, as part of the Commercial Support Contracts concluded by the General Authority of Ports with Saudi Global Ports (SGP) at an investment value of SAR7 billion. This step aims to contribute to the development of King Abdulaziz Port as a flexible and sustainable logistics center and reflects its pivotal role in supporting commercial movement. In line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, it is also aimed at consolidating the Kingdom's position as a global logistics center and a hub linking the three continents of Europe, Asia, and Africa. Electric trucks are recognized for maintaining the environment's safety in ports. They produce zero exhaust emissions, reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, enjoy higher energy efficiency, and save significant operational and maintenance costs.
