Riyadh: Airports within Cluster 2 airports company have been awarded Level 1 accreditation from the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Programme, issued by Airports Council International, reflecting the company's commitment to enhancing its environmental responsibility in alignment with globally recognized practices.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia now ranks as the second-highest country in Asia in terms of the number of airports accredited under the programme and holds the top position in the Middle East. This milestone underscores the Kingdom's commitment to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in the field of environmental sustainability.
Cluster 2 aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality across its airports, and advance comprehensive waste management practices.
