Riyadh: The Environment Fund (EF), dedicated to advancing Saudi Arabia's environmental sector, has unveiled its inaugural newsletter, Environment Insights, showcasing notable transformations within the sector. The publication aims to provide a detailed understanding of the Kingdom's environmental framework and the EF's pivotal role in its advancement.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the first edition of Environment Insights offers a comprehensive overview of the Kingdom's environmental initiatives, emphasizing the contributions of key entities toward fulfilling Saudi Arabia's sustainable development goals. The newsletter also examines current trends and developments in the environmental sector, both locally and globally.
The Environment Fund's endeavors align with Saudi Vision 2030 and its objectives of economic diversification. The EF is instrumental in ensuring financial sustainability through innovative incentives, grant programs, investments, and strategic partnerships. It supports various environmental initiatives, including waste management, ecosystem monitoring, wildlife and marine conservation, vegetation cover enhancement, and combating desertification. By the end of 2024, EF's investment portfolio had reached SAR6.71 billion.
The release of Environment Insights coincides with a global push for environmental sustainability, as Saudi Arabia intensifies efforts to become a leader in this field. The EF is at the forefront of such initiatives, mobilizing funding and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the environmental sector. In 2024 alone, the fund signed 15 strategic agreements to bolster research, funding, and collaborations with non-profit organizations.
