Suhail Nights Festival Highlights Honey Products from 256 Locations Across Northern Borders

Riyadh: At the Suhail Nights Festival in Northern Borders Region, honey-focused events organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture showcased a range of honey products sourced from approximately 256 locations within two nature reserves. The honey events attracted numerous visitors, who explored and purchased various honey products produced by local beekeepers.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Northern Borders Region is home to two nature reserves and 256 designated beekeeping locations. Its vegetation cover, which includes more than 179 honey bee plant species, plays a key role in supporting sustainable honey production. Statistics from the ministry's regional branch revealed that 109 entry permits were issued to beekeepers participating in the seasonal activities, with a total of 25,737 beehives active within the reserves during the bee season.

The National Agricultural Services Company (AgriServ) has issued more than 1,135 licenses for beekeeping and honey production. Additionally, it has implemented training programs in beekeeping, involving over 600 trainees. Furthermore, 11 investment sites have been allocated to the establishment of honey sorting facilities and the development of bee pasturage.
