Abu dhabi: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met with Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Martin Chungong in Abu Dhabi today. The meeting took place on the sidelines of his participation in the Legislative Parliamentary Forum titled “Best Legislative Practices in the Field of Artificial Intelligence.”
According to Saudi Press Agency, the two sides exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation between the GCC General Secretariat and the Inter-Parliamentary Union. They discussed proposed future mechanisms to activate Gulf parliamentary diplomacy in serving common regional and international issues.
The discussions also included several initiatives aimed at supporting parliamentary work in GCC states, as well as the possibility of organizing joint events that contribute to exchanging expertise and strengthening the Gulf presence in global parliamentary organizations.
