On Behalf of HRH the Crown Prince, Foreign Minister Participates in G20 Summit in Johannesburg


Johannesburg: On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated in the second day of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. The summit this year is held under the theme “A Fair and Just Future for All: Critical Minerals, Decent Work, Artificial Intelligence.”



According to Saudi Press Agency, during the session, the minister of foreign affairs delivered a speech expressing the Kingdom’s appreciation for South Africa’s G20 presidency and its significant role in shaping this year’s strategic outcomes. He highlighted how these outcomes build on past achievements and lay the foundation for continued progress in addressing challenges faced by member states.



He emphasized the importance of ensuring fairness and equity in access to and investment in vital resources to promote economic growth while balancing development with environmental protection, noting the world’s rapid shift toward a green economy and clean technologies.



He stated: “The Kingdom believes that artificial intelligence is a key driver in accelerating innovation, improving resource efficiency, and enhancing sustainability across various sectors. This requires an approach based on dialogue, cooperation, collective action, respect for international law, consumer protection, and intellectual property rights, ultimately leading to a fair and inclusive governance system.”



In conclusion, the foreign minister reinforced the Kingdom’s commitment to working with G20 countries to promote a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable economic ecosystem founded on cooperation, innovation, and equal opportunities, thereby contributing to shared prosperity and safeguarding the future for generations to come.
