Riyadh: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and President of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) Bandar Alkhorayef patronized MODON's ceremony honoring the winners of the second annual MODON Industrial Excellence Award. In his remarks at the ceremony, the minister emphasized the award's role in enhancing competitiveness in the industrial sector and celebrating outstanding industrial models, contributing to an advanced and sustainable industrial environment based on innovation and knowledge.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Minister Alkhorayef highlighted the continuous support and empowerment that the industrial sector receives from the Kingdom's leadership, aiming to maximize its role in diversifying the national economy in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. He also mentioned that the Cabinet's decision to abolish the financial levy on expatriate labor in licensed industrial facilities is part of a broader package of enablers for the industrial sector. This decision is intended to enhance the global competitiveness of Saudi industry, support the growth of non-oil exports, ease operational burdens on factories, and attract high-quality investments.
Moreover, Minister Alkhorayef noted that the MODON Industrial Excellence Award functions as a strategic platform for improving operational processes in factories. It aims to raise compliance with the highest standards of quality and sustainability and highlight models that have adopted industrial transformation practices. These models have empowered women and entrepreneurs and contributed to enhancing the efficiency of the industrial sector.
