Riyadh: Thunderstorms accompanied by hail showers and active winds are set to impact various regions across Saudi Arabia, posing potential challenges for residents and travelers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, these weather conditions are expected to affect parts of Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, Makkah, Riyadh, Qassim, and the Eastern Region. Additionally, the Northern Borders and Al-Jouf regions, as well as parts of Madinah and Hail, may experience fog formation.
Over the Red Sea, wind patterns are predicted to vary significantly. In the northern and central parts, northerly to northwesterly winds will blow at speeds of 15-45 km/h, while the southern part will experience southeasterly to southerly winds at speeds of 12-32 km/h. Wave heights are expected to range from one meter to two meters in the northern and central areas, and from half a meter to one and a half meters in the southern areas. The sea conditions will be moderate, with some areas experiencing slight to moderate conditions.
In the Arabian Gulf, winds will initially be southeasterly to northeasterly at speeds of 10-20 km/h, shifting in the afternoon to southeasterly to southerly at speeds of 15-40 km/h, with potential gusts up to 50 km/h due to rain-bearing thunderclouds. Wave heights in the Gulf are anticipated to range from half a meter to one and a half meters, possibly exceeding two meters with thunderclouds, leading to rough sea conditions during thunderstorms.
