Riyadh: The laboratory at King Faisal Hospital in Makkah, part of the Makkah Health Cluster, achieved the highest compliance rate in the Middle East for the American College of Pathologists (CAP) 2025 accreditation. During the inspection conducted on December 11, 2025, the laboratory recorded only 0.47% deficient standards, achieving a 99.53% compliance rate with no recurring deficiencies, placing it at the forefront of accredited laboratories regionally and globally. According to Saudi Press Agency, the Makkah Health Cluster stated that this achievement reflects the high readiness of the medical laboratory system at King Faisal Hospital, as well as its strict adherence to the highest standards of laboratory quality and safety, procedural accuracy, and the reliability of test results, which contribute to informed medical decisions and improved healthcare quality for patients. The cluster added that this compliance rate ranks among the highest globally and is the highest in the Middle East for 2025. It noted that this distinction results from continuous investment in laboratory infrastructure, medical and technical staff training, and adoption of global best practices in testing and laboratory analysis, enhancing performance efficiency, reliability, and diagnostic accuracy, in line with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and Saudi Vision 2030. The CAP accreditation is recognized as one of the world's most rigorous and precise laboratory accreditation programs. It is based on thousands of detailed standards assessing procedural quality, sample safety, result accuracy, and staff competence, and is granted only to laboratories that achieve advanced levels of compliance and reliability.
