Islamic Affairs Minister Inaugurates King Salman Qur’an Competition Finals

Riyadh: Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh on Friday inaugurated the final rounds of the 27th edition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for memorizing, reciting, and interpreting the Holy Quran for boys and girls. Organized and supervised by the ministry, the competition is being held in Riyadh and features 129 male and female contestants representing various regions of the Kingdom.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in his opening address, the minister affirmed that the award reflects a continued generous approach that enjoys the unwavering support and close attention of the Kingdom's wise leadership. He noted that the strong turnout and honorable spirit of competition among participants from across the Kingdom demonstrate the award's significant role in strengthening care for the Holy Qur'an.

More than 3,600 male and female contestants participated in the preliminary stages, with 129 qualifying for the final rounds. The total value of prizes amounts to SAR 7 million, in addition to incentive awards totaling SAR 645,000.
