Bonin islands: A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck Japan's Bonin Islands today, and no tsunami warning was issued.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Japan is located on four tectonic plates, making it highly earthquake-prone, and the region has over 100 active volcanoes.
