Jeddah: Gulf Cooperation Council: Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi expressed his strongest condemnation and denunciation of the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by dozens of settlers and the raising of the Israeli occupation flag within its courtyards, describing these actions as a flagrant and dangerous violation of the sanctity of the holy site and a provocative affront to the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi emphasized that such aggressive practices constitute a blatant violation of all international laws and charters. He pointed out that these actions reflect systematic efforts by the Israeli occupation forces to undermine security and stability in the region.

Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC's steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause as the foremost central issue. He underscored the council's full solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people in reclaiming their legitimate rights, primarily the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The secretary-general also called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities by taking immediate and decisive action to halt these serious violations. He stressed the need to provide the necessary international protection for the Palestinian people and their holy sites and to hold the Israeli occupation forces accountable for these illegal practices, which undermine the prospects for achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
