Al-namas: Al-Madana Village in Al-Namas Governorate continues to attract visitors and tourists as one of the most prominent heritage and rural destinations in Aseer Region due to its rich natural and cultural features that combine the charm of the mountains, the stunning views of Tihama, and the authenticity of traditional architecture, in a scene that reflects the beauty of southern heritage and the spirit of the place.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during recent years, the village has become a preferred destination for lovers of rural and heritage tourism thanks to its old stone houses, historical paths, and experiences simulating the traditional lifestyle in southern Saudi Arabia. It also features green landscapes and a moderate climate that provide visitors with an exceptional experience amid mountains overlooking the plains of Tihama.
Al-Madana includes several historical and natural trails frequented by hiking and exploration enthusiasts, most notably the historic Al-Asabah route, which was formerly used by pilgrims traveling from the south to the north, alongside mountain trails overlooking Tihama that offer rich tourism experiences for lovers of adventure and nature.
The village is inhabited by around 2,000 residents who embody the spirit of cooperation and solidarity through their efforts to restore old homes and preserve the heritage identity of the place, contributing to transforming Al-Madana into a successful model of heritage villages and rural tourism.
The number of visitors to the village increased over the past year, reaching more than 40,000, with expectations of further growth as interest in heritage and rural tourism continues to rise, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 targets to diversify tourism experiences and highlight the cultural identity of the Kingdom's regions.
