Saudi Players Confident Ahead of Uruguay World Cup Clash

Riyadh: Players of the Saudi Arabia national football team expressed respect for Uruguay, a two-time world champion, ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup Group H opener, affirming confidence in their ability to deliver a strong performance backed by tournament experience and the competitiveness of the Saudi League.

According to Saudi Press Agency, forward Feras Al-Brikan said the team completed preparations well. He added that recent friendly matches helped the team implement coach Georgios Donis's ideas.

Goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais urged focus on the team's own performance. "We will face a title contender, and we are fully focused and ready," he said.

Defender Saud Abdulhamid affirmed the team's readiness, noting that regular encounters with world-class players in the Saudi League have raised the team's competitive level.
