Riyadh: The Saudi Mathematics Team has returned home after competing in the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2026), held in Shanghai, China, achieving the Kingdom's best-ever result in the competition with six international medals, including three silver and three bronze, among 660 students representing 117 countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, students Yousef Ayman Bakhit from the General Education Department at the Royal Commission in Yanbu, Abdulsalam Abdullah Al-Sulami from the General Administration of Education in Madinah Region, and Abdulilah Mohammed Al-Saqqaf from the General Administration of Education in Jeddah Governorate each received a silver medal.

Students Elias Shaker Al-Faraj, Abdullah Tariq Al-Amer from the General Administration of Education in Eastern Region, and Faris Mohammed Al-Kanhal from the General Administration of Education in Riyadh Region each earned a bronze medal.

With this achievement, the Kingdom's total tally at the International Mathematical Olympiad has reached 88 awards since its debut in 2004, comprising 15 silver medals, 51 bronze medals, and 22 honorable mentions.
