Riyadh: President of the Human Rights Commission and Chair of the Saudi National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri underscored Saudi Arabia's commitment to combating human trafficking as a fundamental principle and a humanitarian mission for the entire world. She highlighted that the Kingdom has enhanced its role in addressing this crime by developing a comprehensive legislative and institutional framework, aligning with international best practices to protect both society and individuals from human trafficking and its repercussions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Tuwaijri stressed that, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Saudi Arabia has adopted effective measures to combat human trafficking and bring perpetrators to justice as part of the Kingdom's extensive human rights reforms.

Al-Tuwaijri also pointed out, in a statement marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30, that human trafficking is on the rise globally, exacerbated by crises and conflicts that provide fertile ground for trafficking networks, complicating the global landscape.

Saudi Arabia is committed to keeping pace with the evolving nature of human trafficking worldwide by continuously strengthening its legislative and institutional framework. The Kingdom's efforts aim to curb human trafficking, protect and assist victims, pursue offenders globally, tighten restrictions on trafficking networks, and enforce laws against those responsible, acknowledging human trafficking as one of the most severe violations of human dignity.
