Saudi arabia: The skies over Saudi Arabia witnessed the last quarter moon of Safar 1448 AH at dawn today, marking one of the main phases of the lunar cycle. During this phase, half of the Moon's visible disk was illuminated while the other half remained in shadow, a phenomenon that could be seen with the naked eye under clear skies.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Adnan Khalifa, a member of the Space and Astronomy Club, explained that the Moon has completed approximately three-quarters of its orbit around the Earth at this stage. He noted that during this phase, the Moon rises after midnight and remains visible until around midday.

Khalifa further elaborated that lunar phases repeat every 29.5 days, progressing through the new moon, first quarter, full moon, and last quarter. These phases are significant in both astronomy and the Islamic calendar, reflecting the Moon's orbit around the Earth.
