Riyadh: The Asian Wrestling Federation has appointed President of the Saudi Wrestling Federation Fahad Alfarraj as a member of its Council, representing the West Asia region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the appointment reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's growing prominence on the Asian sporting stage and the increasing presence of Saudi sporting leaders in key positions within Asian sports organizations.

Asian Wrestling Federation President Mohammed Al-Awamleh congratulated Alfarraj on his appointment, praising his leadership experience and contributions to supporting and developing wrestling. He also emphasized the importance of continued cooperation in the coming period to strengthen wrestling's presence and expand its reach across West Asia and throughout the Asian continent.

The Saudi Wrestling Federation said the appointment recognizes the Kingdom's role in supporting and developing sport and highlights the growing presence of Saudi sports talent in leadership positions within continental sports organizations.
