Muslim World League Condemns E1 Settlement Plan in Occupied East Jerusalem

Riyadh: The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned and rejected the 'E1' settlement plan and related settlement activities in occupied East Jerusalem.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement issued by the MWL General Secretariat, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa denounced the plan, which threatens the realization of an independent Palestinian state. He criticized all illegal Israeli settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories and Israel's support for and protection of violations and acts of violence committed by settlers against the Palestinian people and their property. These actions are seen as part of Israel's continued approach of violating relevant international laws and resolutions and undermining all peace efforts.

He highlighted the urgent need for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to immediately halt all acts of violence, violations, settlement policies, and other measures aimed at altering the geographic and demographic character of the occupied Palestinian territories.

He also commended the statement issued by the foreign ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Trkiye, the United Arab Emirates, and the Republic of Indonesia. These countries expressed steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people and firm support for their legitimate rights, emphasizing the right to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions as the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
